Slack Integration
Get your Rize summaries delivered in Slack
The Slack integration connects your workspace to Rize so the routines you set up — daily and weekly summaries of your tracked time — arrive as direct messages in Slack instead of only living in the app.
What the integration does
Connect the workspace
An admin connects Rize to your Slack workspace once, and the whole team can then receive messages.
Deliver routines
Routines you configure on the Agent page can use Slack as their delivery channel.
Match people to accounts
Rize links Rize accounts to Slack accounts so each summary reaches the right person's DMs.
Per-person control
Every user can pause their own Slack delivery without affecting anyone else.
Prerequisites
- A Rize account.
- A Slack workspace, and an admin who can authorize a new app in it. Connecting the workspace is an admin action; individual delivery settings are not.
Adding the app
An admin opens Settings > Integrations > Slack
Sign in to Rize, open Settings from the sidebar, choose Integrations, then select Slack.
Click Connect
Rize sends you to Slack to authorize the app for your workspace. Approve the requested permissions.
Link your people
Once connected, Rize matches Rize accounts to Slack accounts. An admin can re-sync users, or link an individual account by hand if the automatic match missed someone.
Send a test message
Use Send Test Message on the Slack settings page. A DM from Rize confirms delivery is working end to end.
Using the app
- Open the Agent page in Rize and set up a routine — a daily or weekly summary, for example.
- Choose Slack as the delivery channel for that routine.
- The summary arrives as a direct message from Rize when the routine runs.
Pausing your own delivery
The Slack settings page has a Slack Notifications toggle for your own account. Turn it off and routines stop DMing you; turn it back on to resume. This only affects you — your teammates keep receiving theirs.
Troubleshooting
- "Your Slack account is not linked yet" — your Rize account has not been matched to a Slack account. Ask an org admin to re-sync users or link your account manually.
- The test message did not arrive — check that your Slack Notifications toggle is on, and that the Rize app is still installed in the workspace.
- A routine did not send — confirm the routine has Slack selected as a delivery channel on the Agent page. A routine set to another channel will not DM you.
- Nobody is receiving messages — the workspace connection may have been removed on the Slack side. An admin can reconnect from Settings → Integrations → Slack.

Removing the app
Stop your own messages
Turn off the Slack Notifications toggle on the Slack settings page. Nothing else changes and your teammates are unaffected.
Disconnect the workspace
- An admin opens Settings → Integrations → Slack in Rize and disconnects, or
- Removes the Rize app from the workspace in Slack, under Apps → Manage.
Either way Rize stops sending messages to that workspace. Your tracked time, routines, and reports in Rize are unaffected — only the delivery channel is removed, so routines fall back to their other channels.
