Granola Integration

Meeting notes

Turn your Granola meeting notes into time entries automatically

The Granola integration imports your meeting notes into Rize and turns each one into a suggested time entry, so meetings land on your timeline with the context of what was discussed.

Imports your recent Granola meeting notes
Connects with a Granola API key
Syncs on a schedule, so nothing needs configuring
Disconnecting removes your Granola credentials from Rize

What the integration does

Import meeting notes

Rize reads the notes on your Granola account and imports the recent ones.

Create time entries

Each note becomes a suggested time entry in your Time Entry Inbox for review.

Only your own notes

The API key is yours, so Rize sees only what that key can reach.

Keep you in control

Auto-import can be paused and resumed without losing the meetings received while it was off.

Prerequisites

  • A Rize account on a plan that includes integrations.
  • A Granola account with an API key.

Adding the app

1

Get your Granola API key

Copy your API key from Granola. There is no OAuth flow for Granola, so the key is how the connection is made.

2

Open Settings > Integrations > Granola in Rize

Sign in to Rize, open Settings, choose Integrations, then select Granola.

3

Paste the key and connect

Submit the key. Rize verifies it, connects, and imports your recent notes so the list is not empty to start with.

How often it syncs

Granola does not send Rize a notification when a note is ready, so Rize checks on a schedule instead. A new note appears as a suggested entry within the sync interval rather than the instant you finish the meeting.

Using the app

  1. Take your meeting notes in Granola as usual.
  2. Rize picks up new notes on its next sync.
  3. A suggested time entry appears in your Time Entry Inbox to review, edit, approve, or reject.

Each note imports once, however many times it is seen by a sync.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing imported after connecting — Rize looks back about a week on first connect, so older notes are not pulled in.
  • A note has not appeared yet — Granola is sync-based rather than push-based, so give it until the next sync before treating it as a fault.
  • "Invalid API key" — regenerate the key in Granola and reconnect.
  • Imports stopped after a plan change — a lapsed Rize subscription pauses importing. Renew, then re-enable auto-import.

Removing the app

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Granola.
  2. Click Disconnect.
  3. Rize deletes the connection and your stored API key immediately. No further notes are imported.

Time entries you already approved stay in your Rize timeline. Nothing in your Granola account is changed or deleted.
