Linear Integration
Automatic time tracking against your Linear issues
Rize is an automatic time tracking app that runs privately on your device, observing which apps, websites, and documents you use throughout the day. It uses AI to turn that raw activity into structured time entries — figuring out what you were working on, for how long, and assigning each block of time to the right client, project, and task. The Linear integration feeds your real issues and projects into Rize so the AI has accurate context to match against, rather than relying on manually created tasks or guesswork.
Connecting Linear
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click "Add Linear." You will be redirected to Linear to authorize the connection. You can also connect Linear during Rize's onboarding flow.
You must be an admin of your Linear workspace to authorize the connection.
Once authorized, select which Linear teams you want to sync with Rize and map them to your Rize workspace. Syncing begins automatically after configuration — no additional setup required.
How Syncing Works
Once connected, your Linear issues appear in Tasks > All Tasks, marked with a Linear icon. The integration keeps your data aligned in both directions:
- Issues assigned to you are automatically synced into Rize
- Issue titles, statuses, and assignments stay updated as they change in Linear
- You cannot edit Linear issue names directly in Rize — changes flow from Linear
Tracking Time Against Linear Issues
Rize runs in the background on your device, privately tracking the apps, websites, and documents you use. Its AI engine matches your activity to your synced Linear issues and automatically generates time entries tagged to the right client, project, and task.
- AI suggestions automatically match your activity to relevant Linear issues
- When manually adding a task to a time entry, Linear issues appear in the selection dropdown
- Time tracked in Rize syncs back to your Linear workspace as logged time on the corresponding issue
Add keywords to your Linear-synced tasks in Rize to improve AI suggestion accuracy. The more context you provide, the better the automatic matching becomes.
Better issue matching
Rize matches activity to the issues your team is actually assigned to instead of relying on a manually created task list.
Cleaner project analytics
When work is tagged against Linear issues consistently, downstream project and team reporting becomes much more useful.
Less manual cleanup
Review gets faster because issue choices already exist in the system and sync updates automatically from Linear.
Creating a Team from Linear
You can import your Linear workspace directly into Rize — including team members and projects — so setup takes minutes rather than hours.
Start team creation
Click "+Add Team" under the Teams navigation and select the "Create via Linear" option.
Authorize and select your workspace
You will be redirected to Linear to authorize the connection. Select the Linear workspace you want to sync.
Import team members
Choose which members of your Linear team you want to add to your Rize workspace.
Sync projects
Select Linear projects to sync as Rize projects. Team tasks are shared across members, and time logged against Linear issues syncs back automatically.
What You Get
With the integration active, your team gets granular visibility into how time is actually spent against real Linear issues. This helps with project estimation, utilization reporting, and understanding where time goes at a client and project level. Everything is automatic and runs in the background — no one needs to remember to start a timer or fill out a timesheet at the end of the week.
Other Integrations
Rize also integrates with ClickUp, Asana, and Zapier for connecting to the rest of your stack.
